As a true Stockholmer, and initiator of WADA, Professor Arne Ljungqvist was the host of the World Anti Doping Agency's 10th anniversary celebration in Stockholm. Arranged by Swedish Sports Confederation, Ministry of Culture and Stockholm City.
The major doping issue on the meeting was the Excecutive Board's introduction and approval of the blood pass, making it possible to follow a biological fingerprint of an athlete's blood values over time.

The event was arranged as an unforgettable jubilee including Executive Committee and Foundation Board meetings, royal gala dinner, entertainment and a glimpse of Stockholm City. Guests were welcomed to Royal Viking Hotel. The Royal Gala Dinner was held at the Opera house honored by The King and Queen of Sweden and more than 200 prominent guests. The guests were entertained with a performance by the Chinese singer Wei Wei, two times Olympic singer – Atlanta 1996 and Beijing 2008.

The Foundation Board Meeting and Press Conference was held in Stockholm City Hall the following day. The City Hall with it's Blue Hall is known for the yearly Nobel Prize Dinner.

The City Hall management made an extraordinary exception and open up the facilities during daytime for a full scale conference meeting and press conference. 50 WADA-members with entourages and some 100 invited guests and representatives from the media was present. The meeting was officially opened by Stockholm Mayor Sten Nordin and a welcoming speech was held by President Jacques Rogge, International Olympic Committee amongst others.
Lunch was arranged by Swedish Sports Confederation abord Strömma kanalbolag's ship S/S Stockholm.
